Kaam Ke Falsafe (काम के फलसफे)

We, as a generation, are united by dreams. It is a common factor with most, if not all. However, there’s no messing with life and the plans it has for us. We get stuck in our day jobs, thriving to get out, but as it goes – Life is a vicious circle.

There’s no getting out of our daily jobs, no matter how much we try. The idea of being much akin to the Indian poster boy for peson, Mr Ranbir Kapoor, is far and scary. With all these things coming into perspective, we go deeper into the blackhole of bill-paying day jobs. Here is a short poem to explain the situation.

ये काम के फलसफे भी कितने अजीब होते है,
हज़ारों आज़ाद पंछियों को मजबूर बना जाते है |
मज़बूरी की मजदूरी को ये काम समझते है,
पैगाम सारे e-mail से ही भेजते है ||

Goa जाएंगे और परसो आएँगे,
इसी उम्मीद में ज़रूर गिड़गिड़ाएंगे |
हर शाम होंगे जाम,
तसल्ली यही होती सरेआम ||

पिंजरा और बेड़ी के बदले,
होते है cubicle, card, और तबादले |
तन्खा बढ़ाने के बदले,
हमें देते “exasperating farrago” की बोतलें ||

हम भी सजाते अपना आशियाँ गौर से,
पर दफ्तर ने ली है अपनी ज़ोर से |
कहाँ सोचते थे घर पैसा भेजेंगे प्यार से,
यहाँ तो किराया भी दे रहे धिक्कार से ||

कहने को तो ऐसे कई दफ्तर आएँगे जाएंगे,
पर हर जगह यही मुसीबतें पाएंगे |
लेकिन Goa जाएंगे और परसो आएँगे,
इसी उम्मीद में ज़रूर गिड़गिड़ाएंगे ||

हाँ भाई modern हम काम करते है,
नमन system को सरेआम करते है |
अब इन बातों को बगल रखते है,
आओ इस शाम यह जाम गटकते है ||

Transliteration:

Yeh kaam ke falsafe bhi kitne ajeeb hote hai,
hazaaron azaad panchiyon ko majbur bana jaate hai.
Majburi ki majduri ko yeh kaam samajhte hai,
Paigaam saare e-mail se hi bhejte hai.Goa jaaenge aur parso aaenge,
isi umeed mein zaroor gidgidaenge.
Har shaam honge jaam,
tassali yahi hoti sareaam.Pinjra aur bedi ke badle,
hote hai cubicle, card, aur tabadle.
Tanqha badhaane ke badle,
humein dete “exasperating farrago” ki bottlein.

Hum bhi sajate apna aashiyaan gaur se,
par daftar ne hee lee hai zor se.
Kahan sochte the ghar paisa bhejenge pyaar se,
yahan to kiraya bhi de rahe dhikkar se.

Kehne ko to aise kai daftar aaenge jaaenge,
par har jagah yahi musibatein paaenge.
Lekin Goa jaaenge aur parso aaenge,
isi umeed mein zaroor gidgidaenge.

Haan bhai modern hum kaam karte hai,
naman system ko sareaam karte hai.
Ab in baaton ko bagal rakhte hai,
aao is shaam yeh jaam gatakte hai.
